About Meadowbrook
Meadowbrook Farm is 460 acres of scenic and historic public open space in the upper Snoqualmie valley, owned by the cities of Snoqualmie and North Bend. The land is the remaining center of a once vast upper valley prairie, maintained for thousands of years by the Snoqualmie tribe, for plants and hunting. The land was preserved as Open Space in 1996.
This website helps you explore Meadowbrook Farm—its history, landscapes, and trails—while offering guidance on how to visit, learn, and care for this shared open space.

Ancestral Lands
Meadowbrook Farm is known to the Snoqualmie people as sdukÊ·albixÊ· baqÊ·ab (Snoqualmie prairie). It is a place of deep cultural significance to the Snoqualmie, who have lived on and cared for this land for thousands of years. By oral tradition, this prairie above Snoqualmie Falls was where Moon the Transformer came to earth and changed the world's plants and animals into the forms we know today.

Elk
Meadowbrook Farm is home to one of the largest herds of Roosevelt elk in the Snoqualmie Valley. These majestic animals roam freely across the fields and forests, often visible in groups grazing at dawn or dusk. The elk are a year-round presence at the farm and an important part of the valley’s natural heritage, offering visitors a chance to experience wildlife up close while respecting their space.

Trails
The farm features a network of gentle walking trails that wind through open meadows, wetlands, and forest edges. These paths offer scenic views of Mount Si and the surrounding valley, while providing opportunities to spot elk, birds, and other wildlife. Trails are accessible year-round and are ideal for walking, running, or enjoying a peaceful connection to nature.

Classes and Events
The farm hosts a variety of community programs throughout the year, from guided nature walks and wildlife talks to cultural celebrations, seasonal festivals, and hands-on workshops. These classes and events bring people together to learn about local history, ecology, and traditions while enjoying the beauty of the farm. Many programs are family-friendly and open to all ages, offering something for everyone in the community.
